This was our first year of not doing a family themed costume thing. We went to Mark & Linda Nye's house and chatted all evening with them and Mark's parents which was much more low key and enjoyable. It was also less fattening than getting 10 bags of candy from trick or treating to eat quickly before Christmas fudge arrives. Mark made us some delicious enchiladas and tacos, the kids (and their dads) rocked out to Guitar Hero upstairs, the girls decorated sugar cookies that Linda had prepared. Josh had a blast and dressed up like an alligator, and his best buddy Timmy was a bird for part of the night. A great, safe night--hope to do it again next year.
