Springtime in Oregon---

Megan (age 12) just finished her "vaulting" class at a nearby Christian Horse Camp. Basically, it's gymnastics on a horse, a big horse! She did a great show at the end of the 6 week class, and is now officially ready to join the circus. Pictures didn't come out that great, as I was trying to take pics, and hold Josh and balance on one foot. Brett was out of town and I had stepped on a nail the day before, got my tetnus shot and hobbled to the show. Of course, it was well worth it.

Josh (age 4) just finished his first (and only) mini-marathon which was about 1/4 mile. He wasn't exactly thrilled when he came in 28th out of 30 pre-schoolers but got a medal anyway. It was all for a good cause, as food items were donated to the community food bank.
So, Brett's in Florida this week, staying at hotel INSIDE Sea World, and is having fun at Universal Studios with some people he works with tonight. It's for a conference that he HAD TO go to, poor guy. Sympathy is just oozing out of me for this man in his fancy hotel, probably dining with dolphins for breakfast tomorrow.

The biggest thrill we had this past week was the birth of a beautiful black calf on our property. We are letting a guy keep his two cows on our property to help eat the grass down, little did he or we know that the mama cow was pregnant. So, we were thrilled to see the wet and slimy calf be born, stand up for the first time, take her first steps (remember Bambi---same thing, quite wobbly) and nurse. We have yet to name her--she is black and white and about the size of our dogs. Loving being out in the country! And this is where Spring happens!
