Some of you do not know about our 22 other "kids"---
so I thought I'd inform you a bit about our goats on the farm. They have been the best part of living out in the country. Wish that Simon and Avery could come out and pet them.
We have 22 Nigerian Dwarf goats. We had 9 born here this Spring. They weight between 2 and 3 pounds when they are born, and are smaller than our cats. Even full grown they are not as big as our dogs. They are kind of like pygmy goats but don't have the big bellies. They are each named and are very friendly! Coming up with names isn't easy when you have 9 babies born in 2 weeks. So, we try to go with themes. We had a dancing theme for one sent of twins (Tango & Jitterbug). Then there were the twins that came the next day and one looked like he was wearing a saddle, so he is Rodeo and his brother is Cody (Cody, Wyoming is the home of the rodeo). We have lucky, who almost died during delivery when we were not home but someone driving by came and saved him plus he was born on 7/7/07 if that's not a LUCKY number than I don't know what is! Maybelline looks like she is wearing eye make- up and my mom thought of that name. Peg-leg went to our pirate goat who had a limp. We have Penelope and Monique, Ace, Squeaker, Dixie, well...i'll be here all day naming them all. We have seen first hand new life and sadly some death, and have had a few close calls but we have had an overall wonderful experience with these little critters.
