Brett had a business trip (all expense paid, I might add) to Arizona to the Fiesta Bowl. He was going to be staying in an incredible resort, so I asked if I could go along and he said YES! What a weekend it was! We stayed at an incredible place called "The Phoenician" outside of Phoenix. When Brett was in meetings I was able to relax, sleep in, read, raid the mini fridge of everything chocolate, take incredibly long showers and just slow down. It was heaven. When brett wasn't in meetings we were taken on an off road jeep ride through the desert, and enjoyed an exquisite dinner. Then on Monday we jumped in the mustang convertible that we rented and headed to the Fiesta Bowl. What a game!! It was the Texas Longhorns against the Ohio Buckeyes. I thought the Buckeyes had a better marching band, but Texas had a real longhorn cow thing on the field for their mascot so I voted for them. As you can see, i really know nothing about football. We watched from the biggest box available where the food kept coming. I had to have a chili dog because I thought that was what you were suppose to eat at a game, but I think that is baseball?? hmm... Matthew McConoughey was there, but I didn't get to see him close up. Longhorns won in the last 15 seconds of the game!
We were also able to see Brett's aunt and uncle who lived an hour or so north of us, which was wonderful. They were very gracious to give us dinner with no notice that we were even coming.
Except missing out on seeing our friends the Kelloggs (they were snowed in) it was an excellent trip!! I am hoping to go next year when they do it again!
